No one can dispute the importance of our children’s education. As parents, God gave us the privilege and the responsibility of raising our sons and daughters, leading them into a life of service to God. Our goal as parents is to shape the mind and character of our children by providing each of them with an understanding of the world around us, helping them to develop the capacity for reason, teaching them practical skills, and building Godly values. Thankfully we are not alone in this task. God has given us tools to help accomplish all this. Your church home helps to provide opportunities for your children to develop spiritually, as does time at home with parents and family. School has also become a major influence in our children's development. Faith based schools have the opportunity, and the responsibility, to come alongside church and family to not only educate, but to help reinforce the Biblical values and Godly character being introduced in the church and at home. Therefore, Christian schooling becomes more than just excellent education plus Bible, it becomes a tool God has given parents to aid with the responsibility of developing citizens for life in God’s kingdom.
Christian education focuses on a world view which has Jesus Christ at its center. With this Biblical world view serving as a foundation for our children, we will find ourselves successfully raising a new generation of men and women of genuine character who have the ability to make decisions based on Biblical values and the desire to live the kind of life that is not limited to value in the here and now, but one that carries with it eternal significance. We will no longer find ourselves raising future leaders who fit into the world’s mold, but rather Godly leaders of true character who have been shaped by His hands, for His eternal purposes.
